Great editing is the key to great writing. Authors who believe they have no need of an editor are not serious authors. Every writer needs an objective pair of eyes to see the flaws in the manuscript. There are always flaws, in grammar, spelling, syntax and usage. There are always flaws in scope and sequence, facts and details, even descriptions and names of characters. There are always flaws in how the book lays out. Working without editorial help is like walking a tightrope without a net: if you fall, you fall far, and if you live, you will be damaged.
Nightengale Press offers comprehensive editorial services within the scope of new contractual packages. We have a team of trusted, talented and experienced editors who work with our authors to make their books the very best they can be.
Our SOUP-TO-NUTS program became the most successful offering we ever provided to prospective authors. We believe this is so because serious authors intuitively know that the careful editing of their books is a key element to the book's future prospects in the marketplace. In the last 12 months, no one purchased publishing services without editing. In response to this trend, we have gone all out to provide a complete array of clearly defined SOUP-TO-NUTS offerings to meet all the different editing needs authors brought to us in the past two years.

If an author does not feel able to actively sell his books, he should not publish a book.
Also, all authors will benefit from our 100% ROI (Return On Investment) book purchase program, where all authors earn 100% royalties until their publication fees are recouped. Typically, this can be accomplished with the author's direct sale his books purchased at the ROI price schedule of print cost plus shipping and handling. This method typically affords $10 or more in profit per book, after payment of print cost and S&H. Also, sales from all other sources (main stream online stores, our online store, bookstores, etc.) are paid at the 100% royalty until the publication fee is recouped. Our authors are NOT required to purchase in bulk. Authors can purchase in smaller increments if desired. Typically, our authors purchase 50 to 100 books to start, but there is no minimum and no maximum purchase. If you want more than 1000 books at one time, we will provide a quote for offset printed books, where the per unit cost goes down as the total number purchased goes up. In this case, authors can recoup their publishing fees even more quickly. • To recoup the BASIC package, you will need to sell 350 books at author direct 100% ROI pricing. • To recoup the DELUXE package, you will need to sell 450 books at author direct 100% ROI pricing. • To recoup the PREMIUM package, you will need to sell 750 books at author direct 100% ROI pricing. • To recoup the PLATINUM package, you will need to sell 1100 books at author direct 100% ROI pricing. • To recoup the TITANIUM package, you will need to sell 2500 books at author direct 100% ROI pricing. Once the author's royalties have recouped the publication fee, all contractual publisher/author royalty splits go into effect. The author can purchase books at print cost plus 30% of retail and resell the books at 100% retail to earn a 70% royalty per book. All books sold online from any source or through bookstores will provide the author a 50% royalty. These royalties are the highest in the industry.
